US/Central
Led by Jamie Teich, library assistant, acquisitions, Hirsch Library
Did you know that the Museum’s Hirsch Library is open to the public? With thousands of books on art to choose from, the Hirsch Library also offers engaging exhibitions featuring materials from the rare books collection! These exhibitions, often organized by library staff, highlight recent acquisitions, exquisitely illustrated books, and rare printed matter.
Enjoy a 20-minute tour of Everyday Encounters: Erasing the Divide between Art and Life. This exhibition draws from the library’s rich collection of rare Conceptual and Fluxus works to consider how process-oriented artists used everyday materials, especially printed matter, to invoke dynamic relationships between art and life. Among the artists represented in Everyday Encounters are Lygia Clark, Alison Knowles, Yoko Ono, and Edgardo Antonio Vigo.
Drop in! This program is free. The Hirsch Library is always free to visit.
