Invited guest: director Samir Oliveros

Cornelius and his sister Rita are sent by their father to pick up guests who are staying in their family’s hotel. When they accidentally hit and kill a goat that is crossing the road, the siblings are forced to work together to repair their father’s truck. Set in the island of Providencia, filmmaker Samir Oliveros’s debut captures the texture of the Colombian Caribbean, its lush green landscapes, and tropical soundscapes. Bad Lucky Goat is a light-hearted exploration of family relationships complemented by Providencia’s distinctive regional culture that lends the film a fresh and original flavor.

About the Special Guest
Samir Oliveros was born in Bogota, Colombia, in 1990. He studied film direction at the School of Visual Arts in New York. After graduation, he launched a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign, with more than $60,000 in contributions, to shoot his first feature, Bad Lucky Goat. The film was shot in Old Providence in the Colombian Caribbean.
