Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed for us to live in a world where we would “not be judged by the color of [our] skin, but by the content of [our] character.” Guests are invited to join the Children’s Museum of Houston in honoring civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and his legacy during our 20th annual celebration.

* Spirit of Sankofa Chorale: Will sing African American spirituals.
* Gardere Oratory Speech Recital: Listen to uplifting, winning words.
* Peace March Led by Kid’s Committee: March down Kid’s Hall in celebration of civil rights.
* “I Have a Dream Speech” Rendition: Listen to the speech that changed history.
* Young Harmonies of Houston: Get moving to the inspirational sounds of this choir.
ON-GOING ACTIVITIES:
* Peace Plates: Create a “peace” of art at Alexander Art Academy.
* Dream Clouds: Share your dreams for changing the world at Junktion.
* Peace Doves: Make a world symbol of peace at Junktion.
* Star Promise: Take the pledge to be kind and fair at Junktion.
* What Color is My World: Explore African American scientific contributions at Science Station.

Closed Mondays. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Easter Sunday. - * MLK DAY SPECIAL HOURS: 10 am – 6 pm. * Special MLK Day admission: $5 per person. Children under one and Members receive free admission.
