Thursday, Sep. 8, 2016 – Wednesday, Sep. 14, 2016

fiestas-patrias-ww_main

On Sept. 15, 1810, Father Miguel Hidalgo climbed atop a church and encouraged people to fight for Mexico’s independence. This “cry” for liberty marks the anniversary of Mexico’s “Grito de Dolores” and it’s celebrated with music, fireworks and parades. Join the Children's Museum to commemorate our neighbor’s fight for freedom with a week packed with cultural celebrations!

SPECIAL EVENTS:

  • Ballet Folklórico Las Américas: Take delight in this vibrant dance of Mexico. Event Time: Thur., Sep. 8 at 6:30 pm in Brown Auditorium.
  • Fiestas Patrias: Join us to celebrate Mexico's fight for freedom during a Fiestas Patrias celebration! Event Time: Sat., Sep. 10
