Houston is home to one of America’s largest Vietnamese populations. When asked about cultural food inspiration right here in Houston, it’s no wonder Underbelly’s Chris Shepherd shares that “it’s the cuisine of Vietnam that most often wins my affections.”
Guests are invited to join Asia Society as Chris visits with Houston Chronicle travel editor Jody Schmal to discuss his recent culinary journey through Vietnam — from South to North and back again. Jody collaborated with Chris on a recently published Chronicle feature about the trip.
Guests will enjoy complimentary light bites from some of Houston’s best Vietnamese restaurants — hand-picked by Chris himself — as well as drinks from our cash bar.
