The Vampires (Vamps) is the result of a series of collaboratives workshops between Dean, her sister Ashstress Agwunobi, and the High School for Performing and Visual Arts visual art and creative writing students. The project investigates how objects produced within a capitalist structure shape the subjects who use them. The video will be both an investigation of the material fact of Nike’s True Red athletic shoe (also knows as Vamps) and a metaphorical exploration of the implications of that corporation’s marketing strategies.

About the Film

Presented in collaboration with students from the Visual Art and Creative Writing Departments of the High School for the Visual and Performing Arts.
