Houston is all heart and now we have proof!  On Monday, February 1, The Health Museum will debut a 12-foot-tall Giant Beating Heart just in time for Heart Health Month. Located in its newly renovated signature exhibit, The Amazing Body Gallery, The Giant Beating Heart is literally a heart attack waiting to happen. The three-dimensional exhibit simulates normal heart functioning until, three times per hour, it gives guests an unexpected view of what happens to blood flow during a heart attack.

The Amazing Body Gallery also sports approximately 30 interactive video and audio kiosks for guests to ask and answer interesting questions about human anatomy and health information. Additional new features of The Amazing Body Gallery include the Calorie Crank which conveys how many calories you must burn for specific foods you eat; the Giant Human Hamster Wheel's circular treadmill, with biometric systems that check your heart rate while walking or running the wheel; plus a Jump, Stretch & Hang activity for vertical hanging endurance, stretching for flexibility and jumping for height. In addition, kids will enjoy exploring the 40-foot-long by 4-foot-tall Colossal Colon maze and reviewing Body Slice Displays, by the makers of Body Worlds, complete high resolution images of internal human anatomy.
