Teen Open House “Drivers Ed”

Saturday, Apr. 16, 2016

02:00 PM – 06:00 PM
US/Central

Join hang@MFAH teen leadership group members for Drivers Ed! This new program is designed by teens, for teens.

Today's event includes the classic 1969 movie The Italian Job on the big screen, DIY-inspired art-making activities, bites at a food truck, tours of the exhibition Sculpted in Steel: Art Deco Automobiles and Motorcycles, 1929–1940, and info about all the Museum's programs for teens. Discover and sketch innovative concept cars in Sculpted in Steel; learn how to make and customize your own keychain out of a Matchbox car; build a car out of a mousetrap, laser-cut wood, and other everyday materials; and leave your mark on a group project inspired by street art!

The program begins at 2 pm with the film in Brown Auditorium Theater in the Law Building, followed by a Q&A with hang@MFAH teen leadership group members. Recommended for ages 13–18.
