Hurry and kapow to the Children’s Museum of Houston’s “Paper Jam” event!  Watch as graphic artists and illustrators engage you in the art of visual storytelling.  Plus, the first 100 kid Museum members to arrive will receive comic book-themed goodies.

Special Events

  • Michael C. Rodriguez:  Follow the renowned illustrator as he designs comic book panels in real time. Event Time:  Noon to 4 p.m. in Kids’ Hall Alcove.
  • Christian Navarrete:  Learn how to illustrate famous super heroes from this rising local star. Event Time:  Noon to 4 p.m. in Alexander Art Academy.  Sign up on site.

ON-GOING ACTIVITIES:

  • Flip-o-Rama:  Make your own simple animation from still images at Alexander Art Academy.
  • Bookworms Bookmarks:  Read all about worms, then design your own bookmark at EcoStation.
  • Worm Books:  Make a foldout book while you learn how worms help plants grow at EcoStation.
  • “Rainbow Fish:” Read Marcus Pfister’s book and design a bright rainbow fish at Junktion.
  • King of the Wild:  Design a crown inspired by Sendak’s “Where The Wild Things Are” at Junktion.
  • Caterpillar Roll:  Design a caterpillar based on Carle’s “The Very Hungry Caterpillar at Junktion.
  • “Frontiers of Space:”   Arrange a model solar system based on the book at Science Station.
  • Self Defeating Fan Car: Design your car chassis and sail out of chipboard, construction paper, straws and wheels at Maker Annex.

  • Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
    Thursday, 10:00 am - 8:00 pm
    Sunday, 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
    Closed Mondays. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Easter Sunday.  
  • General Admission: $17 per person and $16 for seniors 65 years and older. FREE for children under one and Museum Members. Free Hours: FREE FAMILY NIGHT: Thursdays 5 pm - 8 pm.

  • Parking fees: 1 hour - $8, 2 hours - $9, 3+ hours - $10. Metered and street parking are available around the Children's Museum Houston.
