The World Affairs Council of Greater Houston, in partnership with the American Jewish Committee and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, presents this panel discussion on immigration.

Immigration and its implications have risen to the forefront of social, political, and economic deliberation around the world. In the United States, immigration has been a driving factor in both local and national politics, as highlighted by the uncertain future of more than 700,000 “Dreamers” following President Donald Trump’s decision to end DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). The policy afforded a degree of protection against deportation for undocumented children brought to the United States by their parents prior to June 2007.

This discussion is organized in conjunction with the exhibition HOME─So Different, So Appealing, which features work by U.S. Latino and Latin American artists focusing on the universal idea of “home.”

The 7 p.m. discussion is preceded at 5:30 p.m. by registration, light appetizers, and viewing of HOME—So Different, So Appealing.
