#CommonFieldHouston

Join Common Field – the national network of experimental, independent, visual arts organizations and organizers – from April 23 - May 3, 2020 for the reimagined online Convening. Registration is OPEN and FREE, and the full program lineup is now available at https://bit.ly/CFConvening2020.

Originally scheduled to take place in Houston, TX, Common Field adapted the Convening to take place online in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. At this unprecedented moment, there remains an urgent need to stay connected, build knowledge from the field and create a growing set of broadly-shared resources accessible to all. Join us as we collectively strategize around issues of justice, access and survival in the arts – all while building capacity and expanding the parameters of what’s possible.

The Common Field Convening is a critical platform for artists organizations and organizers from across the US to share resources, ideas and methods for artist-led, artist-run, and artist-centered spaces, projects and practices. Convening programs interrogate the current state of cultural work while facilitating the exchange of resources, knowledge and methodologies.

For the past year, the Common Field team is proud to have collaborated with an expansive network of Houston-based organizers to connect local contexts and conditions with the interests of the greater Network. We are profoundly grateful to our Houston Partners, the extended Houston community, and hundreds of participating arts organizers nationwide for their incredible, ongoing dedication to the program in its reimagined form.

FREE REGISTRATION IS OPEN
Common Field is proud to offer FREE registration and open access to all 2020 Convening Programs via Eventbrite.

Peruse the online Convening program schedule, select a session and follow the "FREE ONLINE REGISTRATION (Required)" link to sign-up on the session's Eventbrite page. Please be sure to register separately for each session in which you would like to participate. Note that some sessions have capacity limits and Common Field will do its best to accommodate interested participants.

CONVENING PROGRAM IS LIVE
Engage with more than 100 leading arts organizers in 30 dynamic sessions through the Online Convening. Selected via a national open call and organized by Houston Partners and Common Field, this year’s Convening programs explore progressive strategies for racial, economic and environmental justice in the arts, as well as stronger and more accessible infrastructures for community building and creative practice.

Check out the extensive program, presenters, and full schedule on Common Field’s website. Follow @common_field and #CommonFieldHouston on Instagram and Twitter and @commonfield on Facebook for regular program updates!

ACCESSIBILITY + VIDEO ARCHIVE
Common Field believes in creating as accessible a space as possible for all attendees and will be live captioning sessions. The registration process allows participants to indicate if they have any additional accessibility needs and Common Field will do our best to provide it.

Common Field aims to share its programs broadly, and nearly all Convening sessions will be recorded and added to Common Field’s extensive media archive and available to engage with anytime.

HOUSTON PARTNERS + NETWORK
