CALL FOR ENTRIES – MY TABLE MAGAZINE FEAST YOUR EYES: FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY FROM ACROSS TEXAS

Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016 – Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016

My Table Magazine and Houston Center for Photography want to see your food photographs. This call for entries is open to all Texas photographers, professional and amateur, who photograph their food, the people, and the industry.

We want to see all of the people that touch your food, from the farmer to the fisherman. Show us the unsung men and women who grow, cook and serve our daily meals in this city. These might be line cooks, a hog farmer, the person breaking down a whole tuna for the sushi restaurant, the baker who makes a thousand rolls (or donuts or croissants) every day, a farmers' market vendor, maybe the person who drives the Sysco delivery truck. It could be a mother making sack lunches for her kids, dad at the barbeque, or the family gathered around the dinner table.

For this competition, there will be two categories, youth and adult. One artist from each category will be selected to win an honorarium of $250 for their work. Artists selected for the exhibition at MKT Bar will also be featured in the June 2016 special edition of My Table Magazine.

ABOUT MY TABLE MAGAZINE:
My Table, Houston’s dining magazine, is published by Lazywood Press and was founded in 1994. It’s a different kind of publication: personal, quirky and specialized. John Mariani, restaurant critic for Esquire magazine, calls My Table “both indispensable and a joy to read.”
