About David Leslie
David Leslie is the Executive Director of the Rothko Chapel whose vocation centers on creating cross-sector relationships to further human rights, criminal justice reform, peacemaking, and environmental justice. He served on the Oregon Governor’s Global Warming Advisory Group, chaired the National Council of Churches Immigration Reform Task Force and currently serves on the National Religious Campaign Against Torture Board of Directors, Northwest Workers’ Justice Project Advisory Board, and Houston Coalition Against Hate Steering Committee. He is the recipient of the National Council of Churches’ Eugene Carson Blake Award for Ecumenism for his peacemaking and interfaith leadership. He served as the executive director of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon and Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston. Leslie received his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Texas at Austin before attending Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, where he earned his Master of Divinity degree.
