The University of Texas MD Anderson, one of the world's most respected centers focused on cancer patient care, research, education and prevention, will host a "Cancer Prevention Day" at The Health Museum.
About the Programs & Activities
MD Anderson will showcase health information and provide presentations on ways to reduce cervical cancer risk, including the HPV vaccine. Guests can review a lung exhibit illustrating a healthy lung versus diseased lungs, plus walk through a 15-foot-wide by 19-foot-long by 13-foot-tall giant inflatable breast to see first-hand what breast cancer looks like. To spotlight the potential of skin cancer, a camera feature will provide a snapshot of sun damage to your face, a true eye-opener to the necessity of sunscreen use and the proper amount needed to protect your skin. In addition, MD Anderson will provide Tai Chi demonstrations hourly, and guests have an opportunity to write a personal message on the Strike Through Cancer Wall.
