A Cask of Amontillado: Inspired Dishes from Sherry’s Past
Wednesday, May. 9, 2018 – Wednesday, May. 9, 2018
07:00 PM – 08:30 PM
US/Central
Join culinary superstar Justin Yu and his team for a historically inspired dinner at Rienzi that highlights a centuries-old spirit: sherry.
A James Beard Award–winning chef, Yu (Better Luck Tomorrow and Theodore Rex) brings his unique take on international cuisine. Justin Vann (beverage director for Theodore Rex and Public Services Wine & Whisky) provides the sherry pairings. This evening of dining, sipping, and exploring the history behind sherry—a fortified wine that originated in Spain—also offers a nod to Edgar Allan Poe’s legendary short story “The Cask of Amontillado.”
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for Rienzi tours, with cocktails at 7 p.m. and an elegant, seated dinner at 7:30 p.m.
Get tickets below. Admission ($185) includes a four-course dinner with sherry samples and cocktails. Space is limited. Complimentary valet parking. For ages 21 & older.
• Watch: Justin Yu is the subject of “Tastemakers” for April 2018 in “Texas Monthly”
