“CLAP! – 10×10 Contemporary Latin American Photobooks” is a photobook reading room that presents 130 contemporary Latin American photobooks published between 2000 and 2016. Organized by the nonprofit 10×10 Photobooks based in New York City, the project presents a hands-on opportunity for audiences to browse Latin American photobooks that are rarely seen in the United States.
The selected books represent many of the most exciting innovations in Latin American photography and publications today. The project has been traveling since May 2016, and the Museum’s Hirsch Library is the final stop!
Drop by the Hirsch Library on March 2 & 3 for a hands-on experience with members of the 10x10 team, who facilitate the viewing and handling of these exceptional books. Following the event, the books remain on view in the Hirsch Library through April 8. The library is free to visit.
