Lawndale is pleased to welcome exhibiting artist Georgia Carter in conversation with curator Lauren Rosenblum on how differing processes, working in both drawing and print, allows the artist to explore a subject that at once references the history of artistic technique and also rests comfortably in the digital age.

About the Workshop

Born in Houston, TX, Georgia Carter received her MFA in studio art at The University of Texas in Austin, TX. She received her BFA in painting and drawing from California College of the Arts in San Francisco, CA. She has shown at David Shelton Gallery in Houston, TX, Maniac gallery in Los Angeles, CA amongst various galleries in Oakland, CA and in the Houston area. Her work consists mainly of large scale drawings, painting and prints.

Lauren Rosenblum is the curatorial assistant in Prints & Drawings at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She has held positions in the division of art and architecture at the Yale University Press and in the Department of Prints, Drawings, & Photographs at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She has a BA in art history from Bryn Mawr College and a MA in art history from Temple University, Philadelphia.
