In conjunction with the exhibition Will Boone: The Highway Hex, Musiqa presents a special concert. The exhibition uses the physical and psychological landscape between Texas and California to examine a person’s relationship to their place of origin. The performances will follow the same trajectory, the program includes Shibuya Tokyo for two violins by Karen Tanaka (Los Angeles, California), Ainsi soit-il for solo cello by Nina C. Young (Los Angeles, California), Greenlandic for string quartet by Gabriel Bolanos (Arizona), xs for string quartet by Karola Obermueller (Albuquerque, New Mexico), String Quartet No. 3 by Michael Ippolito (San Marcos, Texas), and the world premiere of String Quartet by Max Vinetz (Houston, Texas).

About Musiqa

Winner of the 2013 and 2016 Chamber Music America/ASCAP Adventurous Programming Award, Musiqa is a non-profit organization dedicated to the performance of contemporary classical music. Founded in 2002 and led by four composers, Musiqa aims to enrich and inspire the community through programs that integrate contemporary music with other art forms. Musiqa celebrates the creative arts through interdisciplinary concerts that highlight contemporary music and its connections to literature, film, dance, art, and more. With its innovative collaborations and educational programming, Musiqa strives to make their repertoire accessible and vital to audiences of all ages and musical backgrounds.
