Join Rienzi and Bayou Bend for good books and great conversations! The History Book Club features discussions about lifestyles and culture in America and Europe in the 1700s and 1800s, led by Museum staff.

In 1772, after the death of her husband, Mary Delany picked up a pair of scissors and launched a new art form: mixed-media collage. She ultimately created 985 botanically correct cut-paper flowers now housed in the British Museum. Author Molly Peacock entwines the story with her own, telling how the book came about and how Peacock found courage and a sense of well-being along the way.

Meet up with other book lovers at Rienzi to discuss The Paper Garden: Mrs. Delany Begins Her Life’s Work at 72 by Molly Peacock.

Drop in! This program is free.
