Co-sponsored by The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Learn the art of ekphrastic writing (writing informed or inspired by individual works of non-literary art) using Mark Rothko’s paintings included in Mark Rothko: A Retrospective, currently on view at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. In this writing workshop, participants will discuss Rothko’s art and read examples of ekphrastic writing, then select a painting to create their own texts inspired by the artist’s work.
