ExploreAsia: Culture Camp (Monica Villareal)

ExploreAsia camps are designed to engage students with Asian art, culture, and history.

The Dances of India
Learn and perform original dances inspired by traditional and contemporary Indian dance techniques. Students will study the history of Indian dance, clothing, and costuming, and create their own props to use for the performance. This camp is in collaboration with the Anjali Center for Performing Arts and is recommended for students ages 6-12.

Early Bird Pricing (through April 17): $225 Members, $275 Nonmembers
Regular Pricing: $275 Members, $325 Nonmembers
For each camp session, a $30 discount will be applied per additional child registered.

About The Anjali Center for Performing Arts

The Anjali Center for Performing Arts, established in 1975, is Texas' first and premier Indian dance institute, dedicated to promoting and preserving Indian classical art forms. At Anjali, the legendary tradition of Indian Classical Dance is safely preserved. Since its inception, Anjali has blossomed into a renowned institution under the direction of its Founder, internationally renowned dancer, teacher and choreographer, Dr. Rathna Kumar.   • Wednesday, Friday - Sunday, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
    Thursday (free admission all day), 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm
    Closed Monday and Tuesday and major holidays.
  • Explore Asia Admission: Six interactive stations; includes complimentary access to current exhibition in the Louisa Stude Sarofim Gallery. $15 per guest ages 13 and up. $9 per guest ages 7–12. Free for guests ages 6 and under and for Asia Society members. Louisa Stude Sarofim Gallery Admission Only: $8 per guest. Free for guests ages 6 and under and for Asia Society members.   Free exhibition admission on Thursdays from 12 pm – 7 pm, presented by Regions Bank.
