Fall is approaching and with it Lawndale Art Center's annual Día de los Muertos celebration. Lawndale is eagerly anticipating this year's Retablo Exhibition, Benefit Auction, and programming and hopes that you will join them in making it the most festive to date!

For many years, artists have rushed to pick up their tins on a first-come, first-served basis. This year, Lawndale is limiting the size of the Retablo Exhibition to approximately 150 works. Given the overwhelming demand for participation Lawndale is trying something new this year: a lottery-based system whereby everyone can submit their name "into the hat" and participants are chosen on a random basis.

The deadline to submit your name into the lottery is Friday, September 2nd. Participating artists will be notified by 5 pm on Monday, September 5th.

As in years past, participating artists will be offered 50% of the proceeds from the sale of their Retablo in the Benefit Auction, along with a complimentary ticket to the Benefit Auction on Thursday, October 27th.
