In honor of MLK Day, the Rothko Chapel plays speeches from his life throughout the day. Come listen to the quiet of the Chapel resonate with MLK’s voice.

11am -- "Loving Your Enemies," delivered at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church, Montgomery, Alabama, on November 17, 1957 (39:55 mins)
1pm -- “Give Us the Ballot,” delivered at the Prayer Pilgrimage for Freedom, Washington, D.C., on May 17, 1957 (19:57 mins)
3pm -- "I Have a Dream," delivered at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington D.C., on August 28, 1963 (17:50 mins)

Please note the Chapel will close early at 4pm in preparation for our evening MLK program, "Monumental Decisions: Art, Politics, and Social Responsibility" at 7pm.

  • Visitors can use the Menil Collection parking lot located at Mulberry and West Alabama. There is also street parking available on Yupon and Sul Ross. Wheelchair access is located on Sul Ross at the north end of the Chapel.
