Although the average visitor appreciates the minerals of the Houston Museum of Natural Science's collection, they do not know the stories behind the origin of each species on display. In this special behind the scenes tour the museum's staff trainer James Washington will tell the story of mineral formation with the backdrop of the origins of the universe as well as the geologic evolution of Earth. With the added bonus of seeing his private teaching collection hidden away in the museum basement.
