Correggio, Jupiter and Io, c. 1530/32, oil on canvas, Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna.

Presented by Géza von Habsburg, International Friends of the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna

Who better than an internationally renowned member of the Habsburg family to talk about the eccentricities and collecting fervor of the dynasty that ruled Europe for more than 600 years?

Guests can find out how the Habsburgs' obsessions led to the creation of one of the world’s most astonishing museums. Géza von Habsburg offers an insider view of two of the greatest collectors of the Habsburg imperial family: Archduke Ferdinand II of Tyrol (1529–1595) and his nephew, Emperor Rudolf II in Prague (1552–1612).
