Houston artist Arthur Turner talks about his nearly 50-year tenure as an instructor at the Glassell School of Art.
This lecture is presented in conjunction with the concurrent exhibitions Arthur Turner: Reflections and Arthur Turner: A Legacy of Students, on view through February 23.
About the Artist
Houston native Arthur Turner (born 1940) has an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan and a BA from North Texas State University. His work has been featured in exhibitions nationally and internationally and is in the collections of the MFAH, McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, Museum of Southeast Texas in Beaumont, and Cranbrook Academy of Art. Turner was a watercolor instructor at the Glassell School of Art from 1969 to 2018, and he has been represented by Moody Gallery since 1975.
