An artist statement is an ever-evolving text used to describe what you make and why. Many artists struggle with it. Some hope to avoid it altogether. But, whether you are applying to school, an open call, or for funding, the artist statement is a fundamental part of sharing your artwork with the world. In this online workshop, students will be given the tools to write a clear, concise, and compelling artist statement. You will discover what information should be covered and identify what questions need to be answered when writing about your work. You will learn from examples of established artists and receive guidance and feedback on writing about your own projects. Photographers of all levels are welcome!
