Following his major success with 2001: A Space Odyssey, filmmaker Stanley Kubrick adapted Anthony Burgess’s futuristic novel A Clockwork Orange, set in a London where gangs of teenage “droogs” commit acts of violence while an iron-fisted state exerts power. When vicious yet charismatic droog Alex DeLarge (Malcolm McDowell) is sentenced to prison after committing murder, he becomes a guinea pig in an experimental aversion therapy designed to recondition him.

Presented as part of the “Summer of Kubrick,” organized by Brazos Bookstore.
