Continue the nature adventure here! Journey with our education staff and other Sprouts with their favorite adult as we explore the zoo. From the hands-on activities and meet and greets with some of our animal ambassadors, this program is designed specifically for 2 to 3 year olds. Let the adventure begin!

Radical Red Pandas – Monday, May 15 & Saturday, May 20
Come discover the “original pandas” and see what sets them apart from the black and white version.

About the Programs & Activities

While younger or older siblings are welcome in any class for an additional fee, please keep in mind that these programs are geared towards children of that specific age group and may not contain age appropriate activities for children outside that range. Please call the education department at (713) 533-6739 to inquire about purchasing an additional child or adult ticket.

Food Trucks

Themed food trucks with a variety of savory and sweet options. Visit the Masakan truck located near our jaguar habitat for Asian inspired cuisine, and our BBQ Americana trailer for smoked meats and classic sides.

Twiga Café

Visit Twiga’s spacious, cool dining room to snack on everything from hamburgers to salads to chicken tenders. Pizza, a variety of other kids’ options, and snacks like fresh fruit, cookies, trail mix, and more are also available. Sit outside and watch the giraffes or rhinos while you eat!

Albert & Ethel Herzstein Trading Post

Feeling the need for a sweet treat? Here’s your place. Located at the entrance of African Forest, the Trading Post offers Dole Whips as well as a variety of other snacks and treats, including cookies, large pretzels, and popcorn. You’ll also find beverages like soda, juice and Saint Arnold beer.
