Writing Series: Bestowing Beauty
Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018 – Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018
06:00 PM – 08:00 PM
As part of the Museum’s ongoing writing series, this program invites you to attend in-gallery writing sessions facilitated by MFAH staff members.
For this session, set in the galleries of Bestowing Beauty: Masterpieces from Persian Lands, participants focus on the major themes highlighted in the exhibition, such as love and longing; faith and piety; and earth and nature.
You can follow the themes and prompts provided, or you are welcome to work on your own independent project using the mediators’ expertise for brainstorming, feedback, and editing. The last half hour of the session offers time for group sharing in the galleries. Plus, you can submit your written pieces for an opportunity to be featured on the MFAH blog and/or social media platforms!

Also, you can catch a calligraphy demonstration by Munther Yousef, a local Arabic calligraphy specialist.
