Two and 1/2 Years (Musical Performance)

Friday, Jun. 24, 2016

07:00 PM – 09:00 PM
US/Central

Robert Hodge and Tierney Malone were interested in preserving and retelling the the Juneteenth story musically.  But they thought the story needed an update, a contemporary berth blown into it to awaken its importance to a new generation.  And from their interest the fabulous album Two and 1/2 Years was born, featuring artists including Phillipee Edison, Moji, Lil Keke, Raymond A, Michele Thibeaux, Bel Ami, Jason Moran and Robert Glasper.

HMAAC has joined with Hodge, Malone and producer Russell Guess to present a live performance of select songs from the album in the ultimate celebration of Juneteenth
