The Other Woman finds genre director Roberto Gavaldón telling a dark crime story of passion and death. Magdalena kills her wealthy twin sister and assumes the woman’s identity, unaware that the sibling’s life had been far from irreproachable. The murder results in surprising consequences.

Dolores del Rio stars, portraying both sisters. Influenced by American film noir, The Other Woman exhibits stylistic richness and complexity. This intense criminal drama was later remade in Hollywood as Dead Ringer (1964), with Bette Davis as both female characters.
