BODY-MIND-AND-SPIRIT-240X240

Discover how a regular meditation practice can support wellness. In the Tibetan tradition, well-being is holistic – encompassing body, energy, and mind. In this workshop, participants will learn meditative techniques using the healing power of the breath-energy to support a healthy body and mind. Mind-body research has also shown the importance of regular practice; sharing some of that research, Dr. Chaoul will share tips to help participants include mind-body practices in their lifestyle.

About the Class

Alejandro Chaoul, PhD, has been a student of Tibetan Buddhism since 1989 and has studied with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, and Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche. He is an Assistant Professor at MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Integrative Medicine Program where he teaches Tibetan meditation to cancer patients, their families and caregivers, and researches the effects of Tibetan mind-body practices with cancer patients. He also teaches mind-body techniques to medical students, staff and faculty at UT's medical school, as a way of self-care.
