THE FENCE : Houston

Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015 – Thursday, Mar. 31, 2016

Houston Center for Photography has partnered with Photoville and Mid Main to bring THE FENCE to Houston for the very first time.THE FENCE is an annual outdoor photographic exhibition inaugurated in 2012 as a sister initiative to Photoville in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Each year, a jury of 40+ photography professionals from around the world selects a group of 40-60 photographers whose work exemplifies the essence of “community” across cultural boundaries and geographical lines.

Following its success at Brooklyn Bridge Park in 2012, THE FENCE has rapidly expanded its geographical reach, adding a specially curated exhibit at theRose F. Kennedy Greenway in Boston in 2103, and a third location at the Atlanta Beltline in 2014. This year, to mark its 4th edition, THE FENCE will present large-scale outdoor exhibitions in Brooklyn, Atlanta, Houston, and Boston – drawing an audience of more than 3 million visitors.
