Don’t let the title fool you: the Museum and many venues around the globe maintain a commitment to screening films on 35mm reel-to-reel. The Dying of the Light explores the history and craft of motion-picture presentation through the stories of career projectionists. Their candid reflections on life in the booth reveal the mysteries of a world that has largely gone unnoticed. The result is a loving tribute to the art and romance of the movies—and to the unseen people who bring the light to our screens.
