With the holidays just around the corner, registration is underway for The Health Museum's new Slam Dunk Holiday Camps for ages 5 to 13. Kids can learn science while they play sports at camps held during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday school breaks.
Thanksgiving holiday camps will be held Monday through Tuesday, November 23-24 and Wednesday and Friday, November 25 and 27.
The Jump Shot Camp for ages 5-7, allows girls and boys to get a jump start in fun sports activities that teach them how to promote "strong bones" with healthy habits.
Three Pointer Camp for ages 8-10 teaches kids to dribble their way through the anatomy of the body while learning basketball techniques and how bones connect. Pre-teens ages 11-13 can elevate their game with dribbling and shooting techniques while learning the basics of sports medicine during Half Court Camp.
For the Christmas holiday school break, camps will be held Monday through Wednesday, December 21 to 23, and December 28 to 30.
Hoopla Adventures is a camp for ages 5 to 7 which gets kids moving with a free-throw frenzy. Little campers will learn the basics of team play, cooperation and the science of shooting.
Ages 8 to 10 will enjoy an adrenaline-fueled Alley-oop Camp emphasizing high-flying shots to advance mental and physical skills.
The Zero-G Flex Camp for ages 11 to 13 will teach kids how to flex their way through gravitational science with vertical leaps.
Session 2 camps held December 28 to 30 include Game On for ages 5 to 7, Shot Clock Countdown for ages 8 to 10, and Lift Off Camp for ages 11 to 13.
About the Camp
