“HOUSTON CHRONICLE” TOP TEXAS FILM PICKS

Introduced by Joey Guerra, Houston Chronicle music critic

Jennifer Lopez stars in the true story of Texas-born Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez, who rose from cult status to performing at the Astrodome, with chart-topping albums on the Latin music charts along the way. Selena was on the brink of international superstardom when she was murdered by the president of her fan club in 1995. Flashbacks explore Selena’s marriage and relationship with her stage father. The cast also includes Edward James Olmos and John Seda.
