Asia Society Texas Center presents a mid-summer family film screening of one of the earliest U.S.-created animated features with a focus on China. Based on the legendary female warrior Hua Mulan, this adaptation from Disney tells the story of a young maiden taking her father’s place in battle and becoming one of China’s greatest heroines. Well received by critics, this film also garnered Academy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Original Score.
Following the screening, visitors will create dragons inspired by the character of Mushu from the film.
