About the Lecture
About Experimental Action
Experimental Action is a three-day, innovative international performance art festival happening February 23- 25, 2017 in Houston, TX that will feature a collection of groundbreaking international and national performance artists alongside local performance artists. Each of the festival’s three nights will be hosted at a different downtown Houston venue and will consist of a series of engaging, participatory, and experimental performance art works. Incoming performance artists will be speaking at area universities and leading workshops during the day. A symposium will be held to facilitate critical dialogue about the work presented. The festival creates a short term community. Through communal housing and meals, local artists, volunteers, and incoming artists create cultural exchanges, lasting connections, and future collaborations. The festival is directed by Julia Claire Wallace and Evan McCarley.
