Opening Reception “Convergencia/Convergence”
Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 – Friday, Nov. 1, 2019
06:00 PM – 08:00 PM
You’re invited to the opening reception for the exhibition Convergencia/Convergence: Latin American Women Artists of Houston—LAWAH.
The work presented in Convergencia/Convergence is as varied as the women in LAWAH (Latin American Women Artists of Houston), although two definitive trends emerge: a strong interest in the human figure, sometimes associated with a social engagement; and a deep commitment to Geometric Abstraction. This exhibition demonstrates the promised bounty of multiculturalism, worldwide, and the new dialogues enriching culture at large.

Latin American Women Artists of Houston comprises Latin American artists living in Houston whose love and dedication to the arts brought them to the Glassell Studio School, where they found a community as they worked to perfect their skills.
