Technology-dependent artworks in the permanent collection present unique challenges for Menil conservators. Hardware and software components often become obsolescent and treatments require the help of outside experts, such as media conservators, software engineers, and electricians. During her talk, Sarah Thompson from the Conservation Department will focus on the Dan Flavin installations at Richmond Hall and the Max Neuhaus’s Sound Figure, 2007, located at the entrance to the main museum building.
Held every Friday for a small group, Member Noontime Talks make exhibitions more intimate and reveal the collection as never before. To sign up, please RSVP to [email protected]. If you are not currently a Menil Member, you can learn more and join here.
