Master Tours “Habsburg Splendor”

Monday, Aug. 24, 2015

06:00 PM – 07:00 PM
US/Central

Giuseppe Arcimboldo, Fire, 1566, oil on panel, Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna.

Led by exhibition co-curators Helga Aurisch, curator of European art; and Christine Gervais, associate curator, decorative arts and Rienzi

The Habsburgs ruled for more than five centuries over an empire that reached from Europe to Central America. The Habsburgs endured into the 20th century, only to see their reign collapse during World War I. Their stories, and the art they collected, live on.

Visitors can get an insider's look at the drama, power, and excess surrounding this legendary dynasty with a private walking tour of Habsburg Splendor: Masterpieces from Vienna’s Imperial Collections.
