Special Events: 

"Tanabata 七夕" Japanese Star Festival as the two star-crossed lovers, Vega and Altair, who are separated by the Milky Way and allowed to meet only once a year, reunite on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month. Event Time: Thursday, July 7.

The World Series of Dog Shows will unleash talented pooches for dance and Frisbees catching performances that are on fire during our Dog Days of Summer.  Event Time:  Saturday, July 9, 2 pm at the Alcove. 

Join the FutureVet® pack and earn a Doggie Diploma during a series of interactive woofshops with therapy dogs that will unleash the joys of being a pet owner but also teach about the responsibilities that come with being one. Event Time:  Saturday, July 9, 2 pm in Alcove.

Galaxies will collide when Darth Vader, Princess Leia and Chewbacca himself make a special appearance at the Children’s Museum of Houston. Become part of this intergalactic saga and come dressed as your favorite Star Wars character. Event Time: Saturday, July 16, 10 am - 5 pm

Come watch Cirque La Vie perform an exciting Light Saber Duel Show, and see what it feels like to watch a Star Wars' battle. Show Time: Saturday, July 16, 2 pm

Chill out and send cold shivers down villains’ spines with a tasty frozen treat in celebration of National Ice Cream Day. Brrr! Event Time: Tues., July 19, 10 am

 

About the Programs & Activities

ON-GOING SUMMER OF SPIES ACTIVITIES: 


  • Crayon Resist Snowflakes: Combine Crayons and watercolors to create a winter scene to inspire cool thoughts at Alexander Art Academy. 
  • Beat the Heat: Learn some fun facts about how our furry friends beat the heat in summer time at EcoStation.
  • Walk Through Paper: Keep cool under pressure and try to figure out how to walk through paper at Junktion.
  • Spy Armband: Make a spy armband that lets you communicate with other spies at Junktion.
  • Spy Disguise: Blend into your enviornment when you make a spy disguise at Junktion.

  • Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
    Thursday, 10:00 am - 8:00 pm
    Sunday, 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
    Closed Mondays. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Easter Sunday.  
  • General Admission: $17 per person and $16 for seniors 65 years and older. FREE for children under one and Museum Members. Free Hours: FREE FAMILY NIGHT: Thursdays 5 pm - 8 pm.
