Kristin Lucas’ work explores the impacts of technology on humanity and the boundary between the technological and corporeal. In her early videos, she frequently cast herself as the protagonist where her interactions with technology lead to isolation, physical and mental contamination, mutations and a diseased body diagnosed by technology. Her recent work harnesses the language and expertise of others to describe the fleeting and fraught nature of technological experience, an alternative creation myth, and more.
In addition to screening several of Lucas’ short experimental videos, she will also perform Weird Object, a monologue about a fictional object with a moody arc, written out of snippets of online customer product reviews.
