About Cary Leibowitz

About Anastasia James

Anastasia James is Curator of Exhibitions and Programs at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art SUNY New Paltz. From 2015-2017 she was Associate Curator at the Contemporary Jewish Museum, San Francisco, California, where she organized Cary Leibowitz: Museum Show and Models for a System: Allison Smith. Past projects include Barbara Morgan: Photographs (Dorsky Museum), Brigid Berlin: It’s All About Me (INVISIBLE-EXPORTS, New York, New York), Billy Name: The Silver Age (Milk Gallery, New York, New York), 13 Most Wanted: Andy Warhol and the 1964 NY World’s Fair (Queens Museum, New York), and Ray Johnson: The Dover Street Years (Center for Cultural Studies, Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York). James received her M.A. from the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College and she is currently organizing monographic exhibitions with Linda Montano and Timothy Greenfield-Sanders
