November Topic
Pair of Torchères
Associate conservator Trevor Boyd discusses the recent acquisition and technical history of a pair of English torchères—ornamental stands used to hold candles or other decorative objects. Discover how the form and decoration of these gilt-wood torchères illustrate popular stylistic movements of the first half of the 18th century.
