Gallery Concert: Da Camera Young Artists present “Sculpted in Sound”

Saturday, Apr. 30, 2016

03:00 PM – 03:30 PM
US/Central

Da Camera Young Artists present a gallery concert featuring works by 20th-century French and American composers that fuse the raucous spirit of the Roaring '20s with the beauty of the classical tradition.

These composers created a new style of music unique to the era that produced the curvaceous, elegant machines on display in Sculpted in Steel: Art Deco Automobiles and Motorcycles, 1929–1940.

The program includes songs by George Gershwin; the boisterous "Divertissement" by Jacques Ibert; and a world premiere by Da Camera Young Artist composer Jonathan Booker inspired by the exhibition.
