Guests are invited to join Friends of the Houston Public Library, in partnership with The Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, as they host their annual Spring Book Sale at The Health Museum.

The museum will waive general admission fees allowing guests to peruse thousands of books, priced at $3 or less, while enjoying the museum's interactive exhibits for free. Proceeds from the Spring Book Sale will help support the Houston Public Library by providing funding for library programs, materials, and scholarships.

The book sale features over 30,000 books in 10 of the most popular categories, including a “Treasure Hunt” section chock full of gems to add to any collection. Other categories include African American Studies, Art and Music, Biographies and Memoirs, Children’s books from K-12, Cookbooks, Fiction, Foreign Languages including Spanish, Science Fiction, Religion/Philosophy, History, How To, Classic Literature, Sports and Health, and Texana. Checks, cash, and all credit cards will be accepted at the sale and book dealers are welcome.

 In addition to buying books at bargain prices to build home and community libraries, attendees will have an opportunity to donate books to children in need across Houston through the partnership with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation. Additionally, the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation will distribute bookmarks and materials to parents about the importance of reading to or with a child daily.
