Married pschyoanalysts Lucrecia and Pedro (Mercedes Morán and Gustavo Garzón) are separating after years of marriage—but not before taking their teenagers on a road trip to Florianópolis, Brazil, to celebrate Lucrecia’s 50th birthday. Pondering aging, parenting, and the permanence of love and desire, Ana Katz’s fifth feature film is a wise and funny reflection on long-term relationships. Reminiscent of the films of Eric Rohmer, Katz offers a lighthearted, yet wholly profound piece on the female experience.

“A vacation worth taking.” - Hollywood Reporter

“Largely consistent with Katz's oeuvre thus far in its gentle, thoughtful probing of everyday events and their more revealing implications.” - Variety

“A film that is very difficult to forget.” - La Nación (Argentina)

“At this point of her career as a filmmaker, with five good feature films to her credit, Ana Katz could be defined as a Buenos Aires middle class costumbrismo specialist.” - Clarín

“Katz opted for an ingenious comedy and the result paid off.” - EscribiendoCine

“The film has an inevitable nostalgic bias, but the melancholic gaze is never underlined, overloaded or interfered with by the intimist portrait, with the most sensitive facets of history.” - Otroscines.com

“Florianópolis Dream is not just a great movie, but also a breath of fresh air.” - Caimán Cuadernos de Cine

“Katz's lead delivers a fine and subtle exploration of middle-aged femininity.” - Cinema Scope
