Ryan Hawk is a visual artist utilizing video, performance, and site-specific installation to explore alternative corporealities and forms of embodiment. Solo presentations of his work have been held at The Art League, Houston; The Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum in Austin, TX; and the Museum of Human Achievement in Austin, TX. His work has been included in several group exhibitions, screenings, and performance festivals in spaces such as: Jonathan Hopson Gallery in Houston, TX; The Wurks in Providence, RI; Grace Exhibition Space in NYC; dfbrl8r gallery in Chicago; Perform Chinatown 2013 in LA; The Museum of Fine Arts in Nagoya, Japan; as well as many others. Awards for his work include the UMLAUF PRIZE; the Roy Crane Award in the Visual Arts; and a Traveling Fellowship for research-based travel to Trinidad and Tobago. He holds a MFA in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin and a BFA in Studio Art from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Ryan Hawk is currently based in Houston, TX, and is a fellow at the Core Residency Program at the Museum of Fine Arts.

Max Fields is an independent curator living and working in Houston, TX. His recent projects include Not Quite Verbatim (2018), an exhibition presented at the Hessel Museum of Art, featuring Jay Chung and Q Takeki Maeda, D’Ette Nogle, Amie Siegel, and Audra Wolowiec; a commissioned online project by Ian Wilson titled A Selection of Discussions published by aCCeSsions Journal in 2018; Barry Elkanick: Proceed to the Nearest Exit (2016); Public Communication: Performing Knowledge of the Body (2015) featuring Jessica Borusky, Melanie Gilligan, Sarah Hill, Katherine Hubbard + MPA, Autumn Knight, and Katharina Swoboda; and do it: houston(2013) among many others. His forthcoming curated exhibition The Color of Love featuring Peggy Ahwesh, Julia Brown, and Skylar Fein is slated to open in Paris, TX, in the fall of 2018. He has held positions at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and The Contemporary Arts Museum Houston. From 2012-2016, Fields was the Director and Curator of Suplex Projects, a curatorial platform based in Houston, TX, and Chicago, IL. He is a recent graduate of the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College.
